Dr. Bert Vorstman was a Board Certified urological surgeon till retirement. After training at the Otago Medical School in Dunedin, New Zealand he completed a urology residency at Auckland Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand. He Fellowship trained in Pediatric and Adult Reconstructive Urology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and after NIH sponsored, pioneering research on “Urinary Bladder Reinnervation” he earned the honor of a Masters of Surgery Diploma from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Dr. Vorstman was a faculty member at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida and then went on to found Florida Urological Associates pa, in Coral Springs, Florida.
Dr. Vorstman is a member of the American Urological Association and the Societe Internationale d’Urologie. He is the author of several journal articles and textbook chapters in urology.
Dr Vorstman has over 30 years of experience in urology and his passion and dedication is to help men and their spouses/partners understand fully the implications of their particular prostate cancer. His specialty area of practice is focal therapy of prostate cancer after precise imaging and detection. Dr Vorstman performs focal therapy in selected men with localized, significant prostate cancer using either cryoablation, hifu or laser. Treating prostate cancer focally virtually eliminates the debilitating risks associated with traditional whole gland treatments such as robotic surgery and radiation/seeds.
