The gaming of a prostate cancer label with half-truths and fear-mongering has become standard practice for physicians and the other players in the prostate cancer industry. The shock value of a cancer label (not all cancers are equal and some, even fail to behave as cancerous) along with a twisting of the truth enables easy exploitation of misconceptions and, for physicians to prey on those made vulnerable. After raising doubt, concern and false hope, its a simple matter to steer patients towards so-called evaluations and treatments for easy money. Many prostate cancers don’t need treatment and, most so-called standard treatments for prostate cancer are worse than the disease itself.
> the PSA and DRE are highly unreliable
> the ultrasound-guided prostate needle biopsy samples randomly only about 0.1% of the prostate
> pathology interpretations and biopsy reports are error-prone and not foolproof
> the Gleason 6 lacks the hallmarks of a cancer, is a bogus cancer and, doesn’t require focal treatment
> some 50% of 50 year olds have unrecognized areas of Gleason 6 “cancer”
> only some 15% of prostate cancers are potentially lethal and, they are only the high-grade cancers
> the most reliable screening mechanism to date for detecting high-grade cancers for targeted biopsy and, ignoring the bogus Gleason 6 is the prostate MRI (NOT fusion technology and, only in the right hands)
> robotic prostate cancer surgery is a toxic and unproven brutal “treatment”
